Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – September 29, 2022 – Looking to commemorate the fact that there is, in fact, a holiday for everything, veteran rock and alternative radio personality Gonzo Greg will join the celebration of International Podcast Day™ on Friday, September 30th, with the release of a series of Big Dumb Show Flashback Podcasts.
“I figure this will lend absolutely zero credibility to the high standing of International Podcast Day™”, said Gonzo, “but it is a way to re-enjoy some of the alleged high points of the Big Dumb Show”.
Perhaps best recognized as the “second-most-popular morning show in the city of Indianapolis” from the Spring of 2000 through the Summer of 2005, the show featured co-hosts Don Stuck and Bo Asner delivering an array of comedic bits, stream of consciousness comedy, and guest turns from the top touring comedians of the day.
Don added, “It was such an honor to be a part of The Big Dumb Show. It was the best creative environment I’ve ever been involved with. The writing and recording sessions, the daily off-the-cuff home runs live on the air. The realization that vodka tasted great in coffee and that it is actually ok to host radio and TV shows over the legal limit. All of this work has made me into the broadcaster I am today! And now if you will excuse me, I’m late for my blood transfusion.”
Bo Asner, who endured endless abuse from Don and Gonzo, was kind with his thoughts, nonetheless. “Working on the Big Dumb Show was the highlight of my radio career. Gonzo and Don were great guys and were like big brothers to me. I learned a lot from them both…I also learned a lot from Dr. Shotski. “
